The Structure of Association of Strong Women Alone
State Level Committee – 3 member representatives from each District associated with the organization. This Committee makes overall policy decisions for the Association, and takes the lead in lobbying the state government for additions and changes in the laws and rules affecting “women alone”.
Executive Committee – 11 members elected every 3 years, to implement the decisions of the State Level Committee, and to give leadership to the Association.
District Level Committees – 4 member representatives from each Block associated with the organization in the District. The Committees meet 3 times a year, and collate the data about the work of the Association.
Block Level Committees – 3 members from each Gram Panchayat associated with the organization in the Block. This Committee is the “Front Line” of the organization, and deals with the problems and cases which the members bring to it.
Gram Panchayat Level Meetings – the Block Committee members hold meetings in the Gram Panchayats of the Block to spread the news about the Association, and help those gathered to solve problems at the local level, if possible.
